Speed up the right ball
In a dink rally, the ball to attack is the one that sits up above the net. Sped up at the paddle-side hip, it comes back as a pop-up to put away.
P1 and P2 play together, against P3 and P4. Press play to watch it, or step through it one shot at a time; the step on the court is highlighted below.
1 / 6Open in whiteboard
- All four at the kitchen line, dinking. Everyone is waiting for a ball to attack.
- Dink by P1: A cross-court dink, low.
- Dink by P4: P4's dink floats: it's above the net when it reaches P1.
- Speed-up by P1: That's the ball. P1 takes it out of the air and speeds it up at P3's paddle-side hip.
- Volley by P3: P3 gets a paddle on it, but the block pops up over the middle.
- Put-away by P2: P2, closing the middle, puts it away between them.
