Speed up the wrong ball

The same rally, but the speed-up comes off a ball below the net. It has to go up, and the player at the other side of the net counters it down at the attacker's feet.

P1 and P2 play together, against P3 and P4. Press play to watch it, or step through it one shot at a time; the step on the court is highlighted below.

Speed up the wrong ball, step by step
  1. All four at the kitchen line, dinking. The same rally, a different choice.
  2. Dink by P1: A cross-court dink, low.
  3. Dink by P4: P4's dink is a good one: low, and it drops into the kitchen.
  4. Speed-up by P1: P1 speeds it up anyway, hitting up from below the net.
  5. Volley by P3: The ball comes at P3 rising, the easiest ball there is. P3 counters it down at P1's feet. Point to P3 and P4.
